IIAP Chandrasekhar Post-Doctoral Fellowships 2016-2016 www.iiap.res.in
We feel proud to inform that every year Indian Institute of Astrophysics grants scholarships to several meritorious students. This year too applications are invited from exceptionally bright candidates with outstanding academic results for the award of 'Chandrasekhar Post-Doctoral Fellowships' in all areas of astronomy and astrophysics.
Details of the Chandrasekhar Postdoctoral Fellowships:
• Candidates should be below the age of 32 years.
• The allowance is Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 55,000/- per month for the candidates with up to 2 years post-doctoral experience and Rs.55,000/- to 60,000/- for those with more than 2 years experience.
• The fellowship is granted for a period of two years. There is possibility of an extension for one more year at the end of term. .
• All successful candidates would be entitled to an annual contingency grant of Rs.2, 00,000/- this includes the housing, medical and other benefits as per terms and conditions.
• All Fellows can independently choose their own research topics or can do this with collaboration with other groups or their peers in the institute.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Candidates should preferably be below the age of 36 years. It is mandatory to have a PhD degree in Physical / Mathematical Sciences from a recognized University or Institute.
