1982 witnessed the establishment of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science & Technology of Kashmir at Srinagar with the aim of imparting education in agricultural and other allied branches of learning and scholarship. Dr.Tej Partap is the present Vice Chancellor of SKUAST.
SKUAST Kashmir offers under graduation, graduate and post graduate courses in Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Forestry and Fisheries. Research stations for farmers opened at various places help students get hands on experience. Expansive library, planning & execution, Project Planning & Monitoring, guest house services are all an important part of the deal. Sports, extracurricular activities help students achieve overall development.
SKUAST Kashmir has conduct many exams on a regular and part time basis for their UG/PG courses like B.Tech, MSc, M.Phil, Ph.D, BSc, BEM, MBM, MBA, M.Tech, Ag.Bsc, B.Pharmacy, M.Pharmacy, and Distance Education etc Semester/Yearly.
