Named after the first chief minister of erstwhile Madhya Pradesh, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University or PRSU was established in 1964 at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, one of the oldest institutions in India. Prof. Sheo Kumar Pandey is the current Vice Chancellor of PRSU. There are close to 300 colleges affiliated to PRSU working on a common vision and mission.
PRSU Raipur currently offers graduate and post graduate courses in 29 departments. The few can be mentioned here Library and Information Science, Economics, Acient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Center for Woman Studies, Electronics, Geology and Water Resource Management, Physics and Astrophysics, Psychology, Computer Science & IT and Chemistry. Expansive and a well-equipped Library offer opportunities for students to explore and expand their horizons. The computer cell helps them overcome their technological fears and obstacles.
