The Board of Secondary Education of West Bengal is one of the oldest educational board in India which was established in 1951 under West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950 and is one of the premium educational boards in India. The Board of Secondary Education was renamed as West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in the year 1964. The west Bengal Board organizes the Secondary/ Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examination yearly which was its main functionality. Supplementary exam details will soon be announced by the board. Exams will be conducted according to the scheduled time table notified by the board. It helps many poor students with fellowships and scholarships.
