Established in 1918, Osmania University or OU was named after the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan. Osmania University has the distinction of being the third oldest University in South India. In the year 2008, OU was awarded the 'A' Grade status by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC).

Osmania University has many colleges to its affiliation. The courses offered by OU are B.A, B.F.A, M.A in Languages.
