Formerly known as Bhopal University, Barkatullah University was named after the most respected freedom fighter Prof. Barkatullah was established in 1970. The University aims at catering to the educational needs of students from Bhopal, Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Hoshangabad, Harda, Betul and Rajgrah. Professor Nisha Dube is the present Vice Chancellor.
